An Enchanting Wedding Beside the Willow

Whimsical. Radiant. Charming.


I have to begin by telling the story of how I became Luke and Shelbii's photographer! It actually all starts with a

friend of mine at my 9-5 job. I was chatting with him one day and he showed me a photo of his sister and her new fiancé, whom I immediately recognized.

Luke is a very close friend of one of my friends (if I tried to explain the lineage any further you would likely get confused lol). Anyway,

long story short, I had hung out with Luke in a mutual friend group without knowing his connection to Shelbii

or my friend from work. It felt like such a wild coincidence that we figured out that connection so soon after their engagement.

I'm so glad that I did because it led to working and collaborating with this awesome couple.


Luke and Shelbii's relationship is the embodiment of simplicity. They are a young couple out of Grand Rapids, MI

who have their faith, friends, family and each other. The best story to describe their relationship is actually the one of their proposal.

Luke got down on one knee in the middle of their living room with no one but the love of his life.

What is more special and simple than that?

Their wedding was something of true beauty, joy and a whole lot of fun!

Luke and Shelbii are the perfect mix of humor and sweetness. Before the ceremony, Shelbii had precious

moments with her bridesmaids over prayer and a beautifully emotional first look with her dad. Luke spent his time before the ceremony

joking around with his closest friends just having the best time before marrying the love of his life. It was a perfectly sunny day

with the clouds really showing off their beauty. For their portraits, Shelbii mentioned how much she loved the willow tree

that lived about 20 yards away from where they said I do! And holy moly was she right to love it because it was gorgeous!

I never wanted to leave, however, they had a party to get to. As soon as they entered onto the dance floor

everyone was out there having so much fun with them. The night ended with memorable dancing, laughter

and memories that will last a lifetime!
